About Sundara Yarn:
Sundara Mahlstadt has been hand-dyeing yarn out of Madison, Wisconsin for nearly two decades. The studio is known for moody, layered colourways — names like *In the Still of the Night*, *Petrichor*, *Black Roses* — and a small set of in-house bases milled to Sundara's own specifications. The Daily Dreams club, Sundara's longest-running subscription, is still releasing in 2026.
Sundara works in small batches: each colourway is hand-mixed and dyed in person, and the colour you receive is the colour that came off Sundara's hands that day. There is no factory between the dyer and the skein, and no two dye days are identical — slight tonal shifts between releases are part of the signature. Super Sock is the everyday workhorse of the Sundara lineup: the merino-nylon sock base that wears for years and still takes the layered dyework cleanly.
